Military Rate Eligibility: Servicemember

UMGC offers a military rate to qualifying students. You will be assigned the military rate if you are an active-duty servicemember, selected reservist, member of the National Guard, or a member of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. After applying, you will receive more information in your student account about how to submit documentation to verify your eligibility for the military rate. Documentation must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the date you submitted this application.

If you do not submit documentation verifying your eligibility for the military rate within 30 calendar days or if UMGC determines that the documentation provided is insufficient, you will be charged the out-of-state rate retroactively and until you submit the required military documentation, unless you qualify for the in-state rate. You may apply for the Maryland in-state rate by completing the appropriate form in your student account within 30 calendar days of the date you submitted this application for admission to UMGC. Only apply for the in-state rate if you are unable to submit the required military documentation or UMGC informs you that your military documentation is insufficient. If you submit the in-state form, UMGC will determine your eligibility and you will be charged the in-state rate retroactively.

You will be assigned the military rate if you indicated on your application that you are the spouse of an active-duty servicemember or a member of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or an undergraduate student who is the spouse of a selected reservist or National Guard member.
